What is vibration therapy?
At Ohana Physical Therapy, we offer whole-body vibration therapy. Dr. John Harvey Kellogg first implemented this therapy in practice in 1895. Today, athletes, gyms, and clinics throughout the country have utilized this therapy to treat and alleviate the symptoms of many common health issues.
The therapy involves sitting, standing, or lying on a machine supported by a vibrating platform. The platform vibrates dozens of times per second, which causes muscles throughout the body to contract quickly. This rapid contraction and relaxation of muscles works as a pump on both the circulatory and lymphatic systems, increasing the speed of blood flow and lymphatic drainage throughout the body.
How does vibration therapy work?
In Whole Body Vibration Therapy, as the platform generates vibrations, they are transmitted to your body. This whole-body vibration increases strength, stability, and range of motion faster than many other treatment options. Each therapy session may be adjusted to suit your specific needs. Our trained physical therapists are dedicated to helping you achieve a pain-free life.
